The acronym S.T.E.M. stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It represents an interdisciplinary approach to learning where academic concepts are coupled with real-world problem solving. S.T.E.M. exemplifies one of the best opportunities for young students to take what they have learned academically and apply it to the world they live in. This method fosters a wonderful environment for critical thinking and practical application.
The S.T.E.M. Academy, exclusive for excelling 6–9th grade Primavera students, provides an opportunity for real-world learning as they engage in hands on, interactive labs ranging from criminal investigations to earthquake simulations. The S.T.E.M. Academy is free and runs Monday–Thursday 2 – 4 p.m. Students must have at least a 2.0 GPA in order to participate.
