Meet Our Team
I was born in Havana Cuba and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I hold a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in secondary education from Grand Canyon University. Additionally, I also completed a master’s degree in educational leadership and am currently a doctoral student at Northern Arizona University. I was employed with Wells Fargo Bank for 13 years and held executive positions including vice president for the Auto Division and VP of the Emerging Markets Division. Most recently, I was teaching social studies in the Chandler Unified School District. My service in the United States Army spanned over 23 years as a Cavalry Scout, Communications Officer, and Military Intelligence Officer. I am a combat veteran and have served in Iraq, Kuwait, Korea, Egypt, and many areas across the globe.
My true passion is my family! I have 2 wonderful high school students.
I love playing and coaching football, baseball, and basketball and have completed 6 full marathons and participated in my first triathlon in 2008.
As an educator I have worked in leadership for the majority of my career, but have also spent time as a social studies and humanities teacher. I attended Butler University (Go Bulldogs) as an undergraduate, Trinity Christian College to obtain my teaching certificate, Indiana University for my graduate degree and I am currently attending the University of Phoenix for a doctoral degree in educational leadership.
In my personal efforts to run away from snow, my family and I moved from the Midwest (Indiana) and made Arizona our home about five years ago. As a father of two boys and a husband, I am amazed at what education has done for me over my life. As a onetime “at risk” kid growing up in Chicago, Illinois, to now being in a place where I not only have the opportunity to provide for my family, but also have palm trees in my back yard, I am simply amazed. I understand the power that education holds and what a powerful education offers each student.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to your student’s success.
